Alejandro Muñoz is a typical feisty and active eight-year-old boy who dreams of an NFL career and loves to play Power Rangers with his sister and brother. But unlike most other kids, he was born with dysfunctional kidneys that eventually will fail. As a result, he takes five different medicines and gets a shot every week, and has to get his blood drawn every month. ALEJANDRO'S DESIGN

Under Alejandro's artistic vision, the Nike Air Max Penny gets a gridiron makeover that stands out in dynamic detail. A football graphic highlights the lateral side panel, while a self portrait on the tongue portrays his fearless playing style in bright color. The shoe is covered by more personal designs on top of a reflective base, and a translucent outsole features a glow-in-the-dark Swoosh design trademark so that each detail shows up, day or night. Alejandro's name is printed on the back heel strap, a signature tribute to a tough kid with super-human courage.
